The Lever

A lever allows you to use a small force to lift a heavy load. We used a pencil as the fulcrum and a paint stick was used to hold the load, which was Othello chips. We started out by moving the pencil to balance one chip to hold up two chips...and then we kept adding chips, moving the fulcrum so that they hold the weight of each new addition.
We were able to lift 37 tokens with just one token!
"Give me a lever and a place to stand, and I can move the world." -Archimedes

  2. I was sitting here today wondering how I could do something with levers for a science experiment. I love how you used such simple objects to make your lever!
