Making a Fishing Game

This fun fishing game is wonderful review for letter names and sounds. You could put numbers on them instead for math review. You must make a rod by taking a long stick and tying a string to one end. To the other end of the string, tie a magnet. Next make the fish. My 5-year old made these and wrote letters on them. When you are finished with them, slip a paper clip on them. Let the fishing begin!
I had my student either say the name or the sound of the letter he caught.  If he couldn't do either, after a quick review of the letter, he tossed it back to catch again later.

When they were finished catching them, they had a lot of fun pretending with them.
