Tree Silhouettes & Tree Branches

This week we paid special attention to the sections on branch patterns, twig parts, seed containers, and tree silhouettes. We decided to take a nature walk and look at the winter snow on the trees and notice the patterns that the branches make. We also collected tree twigs to examine inside where it is warm. We compared them and each drew on for their nature journals, trying to pay particular attention to the uniqueness of their particular branch. We were interested to see how you could see the buds on the branches already. I thought they only came out in the spring.
