One Small Square: Woods Mural- Apple Tree

The boys decided that they wanted to make a mural to show the things they have been learning about the woods and trees. First we took the bark rubbings of the apple tree and made a trunk on one side of a 4 foot by 4 foot sheet of white paper. The rest of the rubbings were made into branches and to the branches we attached the apple leaf prints we had made.

Then we took the apple prints we had made and cut out and glued real seeds to them. We then took the halves and taped them at the top so that the halves go together to look like uncut apples when they hang on the branches but can be flipped open to reveal what the apple looks like on the inside. We will add more trees and woodland creatures each day for a week.
