More Shadow Play on Groundhog's Day

As a follow-up to last year's shadow play on Groundhog's Day...
another fun shadows project to do is to trace shadows...
throughout the day and see how they change.

I saw the idea of using Oreo Heads and Tails to represent shadow/no shadow at Lizard and Ladybug and I thought they would make good graphing material for Groundhog's Day. Everyone took a guess whether Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow by putting the cookie the appropriate side on the graphing chart...
and then we watched the results on You-Tube.
We had a little fun with some groundhog play (printable from Gourmet Mom on the Go)...
and then we had some Groundhog Rolls with some Candlemas soup for dinner.

  1. I love the idea of tracing the shadows. I need to remember that, for the theoretical sunny groundhog day.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. It means so much.
