This Beautiful Moment and Snapshot Summary July 10-16

{this moment}
A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. If you're inspired to do the same, leave a link to your 'moment' in the comments at SouleMama.

One day runs into another and I don't even know what day of the week it is until I check.

This week Katie took the boys to the community park and took with her our Tree Quest Fundana so that they could look for nature finds there.
Rough Bark

on tree bark.
Lichens like clean air. How clean is the air around here?

This, of course, led to climbing trees.

Stand next to a tree. Close your eyes. LISTEN for 60 seconds. What did you HEAR?
They also ate a snack there.

Katie also took the boys to play on the new pirate ship they have at the community center.

It makes one dream of what it was like.

Katie also set up a Super Heroes Hunt with clues for the boys, which they thoroughly enjoyed.
We also set up a surprise of color-changing juice.

The drink starts out clear but it changes to a different color as it is poured into each cup.

It is simple to set up but the results are so much fun!
There was other pretending this week, including being a ninja...

and a spy...

and adventures with Buzz.

I also noticed that there are some colorful leaves on the ground...

Isn't it a bit early for autumn?

Thank you, everyone, for all your thoughts and prayers for Steven's recovery. He goes back to Baltimore Shock/Trauma on Monday for an evaluation to see if the swelling in his leg has gone down enough for them to do the surgery to put pins in his leg. Meanwhile he has been feeling well enough to work some. Thankfully he works via computer so he can do it from bed.

  1. So nice that Katie could take the gang out for a while! What great activities. We will continue to pray for your family.

  2. How wonderful that Katie can take the boys to the park and the pirate ship! Perfect since y'all have recently studied pirates :) Yes, it is indeed a bit early for autumn but we start seeing leaves changing in August here. Oh, time is flying! Prayers for Steven's evaluation on Monday. What a blessing he can do computer work from the comfort of bed!

  3. Praise God that Steve can still earn a living in spite of his injury!!!! :-)

Great captures of your busy week.

  5. I've said it before but I'm always so happy to see all the fun you get up to in your home. What a joyful childhood you are offering your children!
Sorry to hear about Steven. What a terrible accident. Hope the evaluation goes well.

  6. Your children have so much fun!! I love the pirate ship. I think my children would move straight into it. Hope the week brings more fun and joy. Thinking of you all.

  7. I'm loving that pirate ship. I also really like the idea of just standing next to a tree with your eyes closed. We don't have a whole lot'a trees here in Phoenix, but we are going camping in a few weeks. Definitely trees in the mountains!

My children would go nuts over the magic juice!

  8. What a busy week! We love climbing trees too! At least my kids and our neighborhood kids like to shimmy up a tree or two.

  9. Love the pirate ship...how cool!

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. It means so much.
