Decorated Candles

This activity is for older children or adults.
To make decorated candles, you will need:
plain white candles
colored crayons
acrylic paints and brushes
Using your paints, paint whatever design you like on your candle.
Next light your candle.
Keeping your fingers out of the reach of the flame, hold a crayon over the candle until it begins to melt and then move it back and forth, letting it drip onto the candle below.
These make great gifts or can be used to decorate the table during the holidays.

  1. I hadn't thought of using acrylic paints on candles or even melting crayons. Seems obvious now. I can well imagine they would make great presents. I love visiting your blog. It always adds something to my ideas list.

  2. I like the way the light blue crayon drips turned out!

  3. SUCH an ingenious idea- love it!

  4. This a clever idea. Love the crayon drips on the candle.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. It means so much.
