Summer "Bucket" List: Giant Bubble Wand

Materials:
Cotton rope or cord; we used clothesline cord, cut into two pieces; one 35 inches, and one 70 inches
two wooden dowels, 36 inches long

two eye hooks; (Make sure you buy eye hooks that have fairly large loops on top, enough to fit the cord through)
one metal washer ring
bubble solution (see recipe below)

Screw the eye hooks into the top of the dowels.
Tie the shorter piece of cord on the top, and then thread the metal washer onto the longer piece of cord and hang it on the bottom. Bubble solution:
Into a bucket, add a gallon of distilled water.
Stirring SLOWLY , so as not to make lather, add in 12 oz. of Non-Ultra/Classic Dawn Original Scent (or 9 oz. of Ultra Dish detergent if necessary).
Stir in 3 Tablespoons (1 oz) of Glycerin (6 tablespoons if using Ultra detergent).

If you would like to see more photos of this bubble wand in action, Frugal Family Fun has some really nice photos.

  1. Those are great bubbles!

I'm so sad about Childhood Magic - but, it sounds like the right choice for where she's at.
