"Let us strive to make each moment beautiful."
Saint Francis DeSales

Snapshot Summary: June 13-19 {week 38}

Monday: Finishing (again) the Roman Empire by adding photos of the hands-on projects we did to their history notebooks.

Learning about a blacksmith's tools.

Pretend play of scurvy pirates and more.

Building with Math-U-See blocks.
Exploring the beautiful (flowers) and the not so beautiful (a slug laying eggs?)
That evening to the beach for a wonderful family time.

Tuesday: The morning filled with castle building (paper), Joan of Arc puppet,
Christian symbols in Rome (yes, we are going out of order),
Greek sentences,
and more.
A lunch at Taco Bell. Who knew that could be so much fun?
Only with kids can it be so.
On to the library for more storybooks, and history books
and art books
and more.
While Steven and the little ones shop for groceries.
Back home and tea time of cookies, cake, watermelon
and hot cocoa instead of tea.
Then off to our own pursuits; puppets and Roku and laughter and voices together
and more.
Dinner comes and then baths.
Time for bed comes sooner than we all expect.
Stories before bedtime for all.

Wednesday: King Arthur...

the Book of Kells...

picking raspberries...

mining for stones.

Black Bean Confetti salad (oh, summer, I love you!)...
fresh raspberry trifle and hot cocoa with the leftover whipped cream.

Thursday: Park to meet friends to play early to beat the heat, so school work is left for the afternoon.
Climbing trees!
Friday: The Byzantine Empire...

Justinian and Theodora paperdolls...

beach time, again.
