Clouds in Art

I found this wonderful unit on Cloud Art and decided that since we are studying clouds, this would be a good time to look at these pieces of art.
We all looked at these paintings, comparing and contrasting the techniques. We noted that they all painted cumulus clouds, but they pictured them in different ways. Then we tried our hand at making our own cloud pictures, using a technique we had not tried before.
First you paint your sky background. All but third student used blue, but he used purple to indicate a stormy sky. Then you take a tissue and blot out spots of the sky to make clouds. These don't turn out to be bright white clouds, but more of a texture of clouds in the sky.
