February 2019 Snapshot Summary

February was full of snow days and since we live an hour and a half away from Sam's college, he has had to drive in some nasty weather before classes were cancelled.
On one particular day, he drove through some really nasty weather and his siblings had been really worried about him. He was greeting home with lots of hugs.

All these beach snow pictures were taken by James.

Meanwhile, James has been taking some photos of the more beautiful aspects of the weather.

Before we moved to the beach, I never had any idea how beautiful snow and ice at the beach could be.

Deer tracks in the snow around our driveway.

On Chinese New Year we celebrated with take-out Chinese and Katie made some origami pigs as it is the Year of the Pig.
 We also celebrated Hope's birthday.
Katie made cookies for St. Valentine's Day.
I have been learning a lot about large family budge cooking from Jammerill Stewart.
Shepherd's Pies before the mashed potato topping was added.

Quentin has been making granola on a regular basis.
Midas decided that the best way to keep us all home is to lay on the pile of coats by the front door.

Alex and I have been enjoying a Geology science kit he got for Christmas.
We put a piece of popcorn rock in vinegar...

...and crystals began to come out of the rock.

Sam testified at the Ways and Means Committee of Maryland's House of Representatives on a bill to provide a tax break on textbooks the first week week of college. If you would like to see him testifying, you can go here and right under the banner is
