Snapshot Summary, June 2017

June 2017

June has been filled with lots of activity.
We all sat down and decided what things we wanted to accomplish and what things we needed to do to keep things maintained and came up with a summer schedule.
We had the usual fencing and voice lessons for Quentin.
We had copious amounts of time at the beach, with too many pictures taken to count.
We also spent lots of time outside in other places besides the beach.
Including the Millington Community pool.

We have enjoyed time with all of our pets; Midas, our dog, Katie's four cats and Quentin's rats.
We have enjoyed tasty summer foods.

As part of our summer schedule, Katie and I are painting together once a week. We went out one day together and snapped pictures of things we might want to paint. We each picked our own individual projects but we are together, talking and Katie offering good advice to me as this is my first attempt at an oil painting. So far I have painted the background. It is going to be a tribute to VanGogh with a combination of his sunflowers and a starry, starry night.

Katie is painting a landscape of a different view of Betterton beach area.
Alex and I also completed an art project together.
Brenda, my sister-in-law, came over for a few days visit. She spent time with each of the kids. We went shopping, she went with us to fencing and voice lessons. We had so much fun together.
James' birthday is December 28th and gets lost somewhat in the Christmas festivities, so we always celebrate his 1/2 birthday on or about June 28th. This year he chose to have a camping trip. We went to Tuckahoe State Park and we walked trails (even at night), played Frisbee golf, make s'mores around the campfire, played games around the camping lantern, went canoeing and watched chemicals changed to color of the campfire to all sorts of colors such as green! We had a great time!
It is shaping up to be a wonderful summer, and I am looking forward to what July has to offer!

  1. What a lovely update. It was fun to see and here all that you are doing. You are always an inspiration.
    Blessings, Dawn

  2. That does look like a wonderful summer.
That must have been cool to get the fire to change colors.

  3. I think that's just beautiful and memorable for you and Katie to be taking a painting class together. :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. It means so much.
