Geography-Postcard Album: Kansas, "The Sunflower State"

The postcard for this week is from Kansas and sent to us from Prairie Mother.
You should stop over to her blog. She is always doing wonderfully sweet activities, like decorating gingerbread houses and I love her photos.

A special needs student colored in the state on our US map. We noted that it is surrounded by Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma and Missouri.

He colored a state map page with the products and natural features of Kansas on it.
The Nature of Kansas Lands has gorgeous photos of Kansas.

Our snack choice this week was Sunflower seeds since Sunflowers are the state flower.
If it had been spring, we would have made a...

About 12 miles SW of Independence, Kansas is the site of the Little House on the Prairie

We have "visited" 32 states with our postcard-geography album.
We still need postcards for these states:
Mississippi, New Jersey, Vermont and Wyoming.
If you live in any of these states and would like to help us with this project, please leave a comment on how I can get in touch with you. Thank you!
