The Strawberry Patch and Nature Study

The day was hot, saved only by a slight breeze. Spirits were high even so because this yearly tradition is something we all look forward to.

The strawberry patch also has a stand of flowers, vegetables, fruits and handmade baskets from Africa. We love to browse there.
We took a hay ride to the strawberry patch.

Some of us picked strawberries, deep among the cool leaves.

I sketched a buttercup. My youngest sketched this plant. It looked familiar, but we didn't know it's name.

We enjoyed time with friends.

Very happy friends.
Another sketched strawberries.
The youngest's nature journal page.
and we learned that it is called "Pineapple Weed."
