Summer "Bucket" List: Make Twig and Maple Seed Dragonflies

This made-from-natural-materials dragonflies are simple to make...
with a little adult help. First have your kids collect small thin twigs for the bodies and Maple seeds for the wings. An adult then needs to use a glue gun to attach the Maple seeds to the twigs.
Kids can decorate them however they wish. We used glitter glue...by painting it on the wings for that translucent sparkle of dragonflies.
You could use glue and sprinkle on glitter instead.

Next, glue gun on some small beads for the eyes. We only had white beads, but a darker color like brown might look more realistic.

You can use a glue gun to attach a little clip or a piece of thick metal to clip them to a curtain or to in a planter. Or, you could tie a clear cord to it to hang it from the ceiling.
