A Walk in the Snow

The snow had finished falling. It lay, soft and silent,

among the things of which we are familiar.

It revealed new things, too.

Like the movements of squirrels and other critters, that would be otherwise unseen. The curves and patterns brought to light by the contrast of the snow against dark objects. The beauty of shadows.

The sculpture that can be created by old dried up weeds when ice is applied.

A little ten-minute walk can take you many places if you let it.

  1. Lovely winter photos and thoughts. I love shadows in the snow and it is interesting to note what animals leave tracks when we aren't looking. :)

Thanks for sharing your winter world.

  3. My kids would love a 10 minute walk in the snow. Our walk was in the rain, I guess we still saw some amazing things. Nice pictures.

  5. Such a lovely poetic post... lovely words and beautiful pictures. There's no snow here in SoCal, so seeing and feeling posts like yours seem so romantic. Thank you so much for sharing on Friday's Nature Table.
    Blessings and magic.

  6. We enjoyed looking a your snow pictures, it looks so cold and crisp out. Having lived in Florida now for 6 years I don't think I could handle snow any more... We were complaining when the temps. here got below 30 degress.
