Teatime

I have a hard time establishing anything consistently. I have found, however, that establishing a ritual that is every once in a while is better than no ritual at all. One thing that falls into this category is teatime.

I have not been able to do this on a daily or even weekly basis, but we do have a teatime whenever it strikes us to do so. Despite the fact that it is not consistent, it is something that we all look forward to. During this time, we read poetry and stories to one another and listen to musical pieces while we enjoy a lovely old fashioned sit down tea.

We make an effort each tea-time to dress up our table with tablecloth, use pretty teapots, decorate the table with flowers or candles and serve up some special treats. Sometim es we have cake and cookies. Sometimes we try something new like finger sandwiches, scones and crumpets.

What better way to have poetry, music and literature appreciation?
